when people refer to the big waves on the “north shore” which hawaiian island are they refering to?

I grew up on the North Shore. (64-68) (70-76). Lived next to Ehukai Beach Park. Lots of fun back then. Knew Laird Hamilton when he was 10.

@mLcres its really different then what u expect. huge swells are hellaa shallow. CHECK TEAHUPOO UNDERWATER. WAVES ARE CRAZZZYYYY
its hard to belive i snorkled on sunset beach and the waters were so calm in august but 4 or 5 months later it looks like this….. i want to live there so bad come on mega millions lol

i went to sandys and mukapu’u and when the wave crashed right on me. oh man i was a rag doll just getting thrown around with more power than you would belive. i was truly under for almost minutes at a time, and getting out to the waves is a mission

not sure about the hotels but…… its on the north top of the island and at the airport u can get a booklet that tells u where evrything is. and its ABOUT 30 mins from the airport
