I watched the movie “North Shore” which was made in 1984. This resentment is nothing new.

But my question is, where were the Native Hawaiians when the legislature voted for statehood? Why didn’t they organize?

  2. more Chamorros need to watch this and come to realize that the upcoming Military Build Up on Guam and the CNMI will have all the negative results just portrayed.

There is no positive with the U.S. presence on any of our islands.

@Lakeside54321 there is a video called ‘the myth of ceded lands’ on hawaiiankingdom(dot)org. it’s very educational

Ok… I am an Arkansan… I’ve never heard this before! I will do some more study on this subject, and if it is true, then I will also voice my opinion for your sovereignty. This is the exact thing I have preached for years… about what our Government has done around the world, and then we are not told the truth about it! We show patriotism when we kick Iraq out of Kuwait, but we have done the same thing in other places! If your story is true, then you should get it back plain and simple.

  6. The Philippines is an apparent warning, … do take your independence.
KALEIKOA KA’EO is right “loosing ones identity is far worst than loosing ones land.”

I’m from the Philippines. (many of my people had already lost their sense of heritage.)

    10:28. RIGHT ON

I’m proud to be Hawaiian too!

  10. DeltaEagle7700

As much as I want Hawaiian independence, I don’t think a terrorist organization would be a good answer. People that formed similar organizations around the world when they wanted their country’s independece got killed or thrown in jail.

  11. benkula1

You’re justifying wrongful occupation because it’s “easier.”

God I wish there was a Hawaiian terrorist. Negotiating and talking is getting Hawaii nowhere. Hawaii was taken over forcefully. It should be taken back forcefully.

if the established economic state takes a hit then the us will have to suffer, it was never our land to develop in the first place. there is not a simple way for the usa to hand hawaii back to the natives but that should not stop us from trying. the native people of not only Hawaii but also the whole Americas have been taken advantage of it is a sad story that a government, that tries to premote freedom across the world still has people in its heart land who are not free.

  13. nowpower92

its not all Americans. i am an American and i think it is one of the horrific acts that have gone unnoticed by the public. no nations has any right to take land that does not belong to them. the government has been very wrong in taking the land, banning the language, and destroying the environment. the native people of Hawaii should get what they want be it no usa control or little. the choose should be in the hands of the natives.

  14. fack USA
    americans sons of a bitch

  15. ajthemooonster

i say the americans just go back to america and they all there stuff, ( wal mart) and go away, and let the hawaiians do wat ever they want to do with out the americans help, lets see how thats gona work

  16. Native Hawaiians need to ask themselves how would they govern themselves and the Islands? Would you make a treaty with the US to allow their continued military presence there? It is unlikely the US will ever give up its strategic military in the area. Would they allow for a multicultural nation or would Hawaiians only be sovereign citizens? If so how would you transition all the wealth invested in the land by foreigners? Especially the Japanese, don’t forget to look out for them too.

@RogueChinchilla …..You right hawaiian, the land is so far gone,it would be impossible to live that lifestyle again….mahalo nui!!!

  18. RogueChinchilla

Sorry man. (By the way I was born and raised maui, and I am native hawaiian too)
But funding is a necessity. Some people yes did live off of the land.

But that was in ancient times, when the land was ahupua’a. That’s all been destroyed. The infrastructure for that kind of subsistence is pretty much gone. Sure some people can go pound some kalo or hunt a pig and cook it in their imu.

But imagine Every resident having to do that on a daily basis to survive. The land isn’t ready to support that.

  19. RogueChinchilla

We have assimilated. A lot of people however don’t like the fact that they needed to assimilate in the first place.

why should the NATIVE HAWAIIANS, the people who were there before any other people, have to move to a reservation. maybe the white people that go there should have to stay on a hawaiian opperated reservation

  22. bbizzy89

have u ever been to a reservation?? there some of the nastiest places in america. most of the natives on the mohawk res in northern ny have dirt floor and cant go near the rivers or lakes because the levels of mercurey are to high. in north dakota there are still places natives arnt allowed to go to because their natives. I saw a bumper sticker that said “the only good indian is a dead indian. actually go to a res and see if its a “win win”

  23. rinc1989

Reservations have been some of the most profitable land’s in the U.S. Ever heard of Casinos? Those began on reservation’s, they have tours as well no property tax. Far from a “ghetto” I believe you just exagerated the government term. Besides reservations seem like the only sensable solution. It’s a win-win.

  24. rinc1989

exactly. It’s impossible to please so many. After more than a century one would expect the natives would have assimilated by know.

  25. like Ckaleconley said, reservations are NOT a solution..
if the British can give back Hong Kong to China, i’m sure as positive the U.S can give back Hawaii to the indigenous peoples..
